Peter White

Dr. Peter White is a solo and chamber percussionist from Tacoma, Washington. He received his BM from the University of Oregon (‘14) with Pius Cheung, MM from the University of Miami (‘16) with Svetoslav Stoyanov, and DMA from Stony Brook University ('22) with Eduardo Leandro. He is currently pursuing his DMA at SUNY Stony Brook with Eduardo Leandro. In 2016, Peter was a semi-finalist at the TROMP International Percussion Competition. In 2017 he joined Joe DeMarco as the percussion duo membranophŌn, advancing to the semi-finals of the International Percussion Competition Luxembourg in 2018. Since then he has been working closely with Kathryn and Alina with the trio Sputter Box. Recently, he has been performing with Contraption, a double percussion and guitar trio.
