Kathryn Vetter

Dr. Kathryn Vetter, a New York-based award-winning musician, is the clarinetist of Sputter Box and Nu. In 2022, Kathryn was selected as one of four musicians to perform works by Georges Aperghis at Biennale Musica in Venice, Italy. That year, she also performed at the NYC Electroacoustic Music Festival, ICA’s Clarinet Fest in Reno, and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. In 2018 at the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Cortona, Italy, Kathryn placed first in the Contemporary Performance Competition and commissioned Paul Hwang as part of the award. As an orchestral musician, Kathryn has performed with the Painted Sky Opera, Norman Philharmonic, Ohio Light Opera, Oklahoma Festival Ballet, and Juilliard Lab Orchestra. Kathryn is currently a music professor at Five Towns College and Mannes Prep–The New School and was the Spring 2022 Visiting Clarinet Professor at University of Oklahoma. She also teaches a private studio of clarinet, saxophone, and flute students. Her students have successfully auditioned into Juilliard Pre-College and Manhattan School of Music Precollege. Originally from New Jersey, Kathryn now resides in Brooklyn.
